Invoice management sits between sending a document and actually banking the money. The gap is where most small businesses lose cash flow.
What good invoice management includes
- A single source of truth for every invoice ever sent
- Clear status: draft, sent, viewed, paid, overdue
- Read receipts (you know when the client opened the invoice)
- Reminders that go out automatically before and after the due date
- Payment reconciliation — invoices marked paid when money hits the account
- Reporting: outstanding total, average days-to-paid, top late clients
How our approach maps to that list
Every saved invoice gets a unique share URL. When your client opens it we stamp viewed_at and increment view_count. When they (or you) mark it Paid we stamp paid_at. All events land in a per-invoice log. That is the foundation of every invoice management tool worth using.
When to graduate from a generator to a full app
If you send fewer than 20 invoices a month, a good generator with a share link and status tracking is enough. Past 20 you want automated reminders and payment reconciliation.
